Alleman and Rabensteiner are the winners of the TT and reduce the gap with the leaders

The Lüthi-Wakefield duo are unbeatable and have a clean sheet of victories

Thursday morning, Villafranca de Córdoba welcomed the bikers of the twelfth edition of the Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN with a 30km TT and a XCO style type of circuit.

At 10am the first couples took the start, and at 11:15 we saw the women’s category of the UCI MARATHON SERIES and at 12:00 the men’s category.

With a one minute gap between couples, today’s journey seemed to be important for the overall standings. In the men’s category, the power of the current leaders, Seewalk and Stosek, was threatened by the victory and the 18 seconds that the Wilier-Pirelli couple reduced.

“Today’s stage was the most difficult one, because you didn’t have any reference from your rivals. We went full gas during the 30km”, said Alleman after his third stage victory. Also, Rabensteiner complimented the Belgian work: “Wout is super strong. I just follow his wheel as much as possible.”

And in the women’s category, the leaders continue ruling with an iron fist, without making mistakes and without having technical or physical problems. Today, they showed it again with a win with a more than one minute gap against their rivals.

“We gave it our all. We are very happy. Now we have a gap that we’ll have to manage during the next few days to make sure we get the final win” said the South African Wakefield after her fourth victory.

Tomorrow, the first of the two stages that will put an end to this Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN will take place in Córdoba. Next we have the queen stage, the SKODA Super Stage, with 80 km and 1900m. And ahead we have El Reventón and a railway that will leave no one indifferent.
